tail wedge help please

I could sure use some advice here. I installed my tail wedge. It was perfect except for one minor flaw. The center sunk a little below flush. I don't want to scrap too much and possibly flatten the bottom--is there a way I could level this with Z-poxy or somthing similar during the finish process. I REALLY don't want to rout it out if I don't have to. Its not sunk that much, you can really only tell when you run your hand over it-maybe 1/1000 or so.
How much can be filled/levelled if any?

You should be able to sand and maintain the contour if it's as little as "a thou or so"

Hi-
I wouldn't worry about scraping the sides a bit if it is really only a matter of a few 'thou . You have about .075+ of side there on top of the end block.
I've never had much luck trying to fill with finish, but I don't know what I'm doing, so that doesn't mean much. If the wedge is below the sides, it will be tricky to make sure you don't have any glue along the edges if you can't scrape flush.
My second choice would be to rout it out and do it again- it will probably take less time than you think.

I guess I didn't specify--I ahve already sanded sbout as thin as I want to go--AFTER sanding, I'm about a thou or so under flush.

Same thing happened to me. I used a couple pieces of binding to make my tail wedge and when I clamped them, they bent slightly. I didn't notice until I got it glue and sanded in the body. Same thing, you could feel a slight dip at the wedge. I used zpoxy finishing resin to pore fill and it leveled that area as well. I had already chalked it up to a lesson learned, but the zpoxy corrected it for me.

I think you will be fine.

Thats exactly what I did--I bordered the wedge with pieces of binding--after calmping, the center was dipped. It is over the tail block so I wonder, how thin can I go on the sides if they are backed by the tail block?

Flood the wedge with Hot Stuff or other CA glue, allowing it to cover all of
the low area. Do not use an accelerator. Let it sit overnight, then sand as
usual. Works well.
